It is interesting that Nevron managed to create almost identical dashboarding solutions for the Reporting Services and SharePoint ecosystems.  This involved making a pivot engine similar to the one that Reporting Services internally uses to aggregate the data.  In addition, they developed a web UI that mimics the desktop UI they already have in their mature Reporting Services product line.  Both suites are designed to build on top of the .NET Vision products, so that additional/custom data visualization tasks can be performed by developers who are already familiar with the Nevron products, or through Nevron consulting services.

A Buzz Lightyear Decade

These visionary BI companies should be on the radar of any IT manager who has a stake in corporate performance management and the dashboarding of mission-critical business knowledge.  While it is true there still exists a limitless amount of improvement that can be made in BI archticture and tool sets - from dashboard widgets to data cubes - and especially with respect to data integration and federated access, the next generation of BI solutions offers tremendous improvements and advantages over "old world" posibilities.
