DI: What’s the process for someone to evaluate your solutions?
Edan Kabatchnik: SQLstream offers a one-day demonstration and discovery workshop for individuals and teams. Participants will learn how to take advantage of the new features in SQLstream 2.0 and apply these features to address their unique business challenges. In just a few short hours with SQLstream, database administrators, analysts and developers who are familiar with SQL can become real-time data experts.
DI: Do you offer localized versions of SQLstream? If so, can you tell us what you offer?
Edan Kabatchnik:
Both Eigenbase and SQLstream have been architected with localization to other languages in mind. While SQLstream currently ships in US English, SQLstream plans to localize its product in conjunction with regional partners.
DI: What key customers are using your solutions?
Damian Black: Mozilla selected SQLstream to provide real-time analytics for worldwide download monitoring of Firefox 3.5. SQLstream monitors downloads from all of the Mozilla download servers across the globe for all releases of Firefox in all languages. SQLstream then maps the download IP addresses to the city of origin with accuracy down 2000 meters, per Mozilla's request, and maintains streaming analytics on the downloads by release number and location. For Firefox 3.5, download data is shared with the public at http://downloadstats.mozilla.com via a geospatial map that shows where Firefox 3.5 is actually being downloaded.
Similarly, customers are using SQLstream's real-time, continuous analytics to report the popularity and use of web links, articles, products and top 10 lists. Other customers are using SQLstream to continuously monitor content delivery and server errors that could adversely impact the customer experience. These customers are using SQLstream to gain a strategic advantage over their competitors who are locked into batch processing systems that require 24 hours to process and yield results.
In the growing online advertising market, companies want to promote or demote ad campaigns in real-time, by continuously monitoring their effectiveness in terms of revenue and click-through and conversion-to-sales rates. SQLstream can monitor ad campaigns, in real time, to optimize expenditures and results.
DI: What new products or developments are in the works that you would be able to share with us?
Damian Black & Rick Saletta:
We're seeing a lot of interest in SQLstream from data warehouse experts. SQLstream bridges the gap between operational systems and data warehouses, providing continuous visibility into KPIs. What we've learned is that, with the current state of the economy, companies that generate, capture or depend on large volumes of data are now seeking alternatives to costly data warehouse additions.
SQLstream offloads the data warehouse of billions of messages per day, increasing scalability, adding new capabilities and keeping the data warehouse current, while eliminating latency and downtime. SQLstream processes tens of thousands of records per second, performing continuous data aggregation, cleansing, validation and keeping running aggregates continually updated on the database. We understand that the recession has forced most companies to tighten their belts. For companies that would like to grow their business while keeping costs down, we believe that SQLstream is just the solution they have been looking for.
