SAP has agreed to acquire manufacturing execution software provider Visiprise for an undisclosed sum to expand its offerings for the manufacturing industry. |
The company has been working with Visiprise since 2005, and said the acquisition will enable a combined offering to provide clients network-wide visibility, enterprise orchestration, plant to network data integration, and the ability to deploy end-to-end, "plan to make" processes across multiple plants through an integrated ERP and manufacturing execution system (MES).
It said the integrated offering will provide increased production responsiveness, improved operational efficiencies, and enhanced quality and regulatory compliance.
Jim Hagemann Snabe, member of the executive council at SAP said: "We are excited to combine Visiprise's industry-leading manufacturing execution solutions with the power of the SAP Business Suite. This combination will offer manufacturers better visibility by linking the operations of the plant floor to production planning and operations management."
The deal is expected to be completed next month subject to necessary regulatory approvals in the US and Europe.
