Effective immediately, Jedox will now be offering the Business Intelligence software Palo for Excel and Palo Suite in a "supported open source" version that includes support, software assurance and maintenance. Supported open source combines free software subject to a GPL licence with a level of service usually associated with commercial business software, thereby offering users certainty with regard to their business processes. In terms of service, the supported open source concept is positioned between pure open source products and commercial open source products subject to subscription licenses, with the latter being marketed by Jedox under the names Palo for Excel Premium and Palo Suite Premium.
