Microsoft recently announced Power View, a new business intelligence tool which will be released with SQL Server 2012, as well as Data Explorer, a BI tool for Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.
According to the presentation at SQL Pass 2011, Microsoft will be launching web based versions of its BI tools in 2012. They will run in browsers on Apple’s iOS and Microsoft’s Windows devices. Microsoft also plans to add touch support for data exploration and visualization capabilities, and launch it for the Windows 8, Windows Phone, iOS and Android platforms.
