Karen Knowles has been named General Manager of the US Federal Government business unit for SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services. She brings 17 years of federal government software sales experience to the role, not only with SAS but also management positions at Business Objects, Crystal Decisions and other software companies.

"During her five-year career with SAS, Karen has demonstrated a consistent, strong level of performance and results," said Carl Farrell, Executive Vice President, SAS Americas. "I am confident she will provide strong leadership and direction to the team as we continue on a path of aggressive growth."

Knowles is based in Arlington, VA, along with the majority of employees in the SAS Federal business unit. Under her leadership, the team will continue to expand SAS' focus in the national security and defense sectors.
